HON. JUSTICE HABEEB ADEWALE ABIRU JCA, FCArb.
Hon. Justice Habeeb Adewale Abiru obtained his LL. B degree from the prestigious University of Ife, Ile-Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1984 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985. He thereafter obtained his LL.M degree in 1987. Hon. Justice Abiru commenced legal practice in 1988 and worked in the Law firms of G.O. Oduwole & Co, Bentley, Edu & Co and M.A.O Abiru & Co between 1988 and 2001.
He was elevated to the Bench as a Judge of the High Court of Lagos State in May 2001. He sat in the Lands and Chieftaincy Division, General Civil Division, Family and Probate Division and Criminal Division and has also traversed Ikeja, Badagry, Lagos and Ikorodu Judicial Division of the High Court of Lagos. His Lordship also served as Member, Governorship and Legislative Houses Elections Tribunal in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State and as Member of the Local Government Election Tribunal, Lagos State. His Lordship was elevated to the Court of Appeal in 2012 and has sat in the Akure and Kaduna Divisions of the Court and the Jos Division of the Court of Appeal. Presently sits at the Kano Division of the Court of Appeal. A prolific writer, His Lordship has written and presented papers at different and varied seminars and conferences and has also published some of his papers in books, journals and legal magazines.
